I love cooking with our son, especially if its something as yummy as french toast! Here's our sugar-free recipe in the perfect kid-sized bites.
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup milk or lactose free milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 loaf of french bread
1/2 cup maple syrup (if desired on top)
In a 10-inch or 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk together cinnamon, eggs, milk, and vanilla and pour into a shallow container such as a pie plate. Dip bread in egg mixture. Fry slices until golden brown, then flip to cook the other side. Serve with syrup unless you want to keep it sugar free.
